Introduction:
Cricket is one of the greatest and favourite sports in the world. ICC World Cup is the most popular and greatest tournament for cricket.
World Cup Cricket is the highlight of every cricket lover's life. This time the event, which is held every four years, will be even more memorable for cricket lovers living in Bangladesh.
How it is played:
A cricket match is played between two teams. Each team consists of eleven members. A match is sometimes played the whole day and, even day and night.
The umpire's signal marks the beginning of the play and the bowler starts bowling. After every six balls the bowler's over ends.
Prospects of Bangladesh in cricket:
Bangladesh has advanced in playing cricket. The prospects of Bangladesh in cricket is given below - "The Tigers": The Bangladeshi cricket team, is known as "The Tigers".
It is a national cricket team representing Bangladesh. Bangladesh is a full member of the International cricket council (ICC) with Test and One Day International (ODI) status.
Becoming a regular ICC member:
Bangladesh began its journey in the International arena in 1997 by winning the ICC Trophy in Malaysia. By winning the ICC Trophy, the tigers became a regular ICC member with the right to play One Day Internationals (ODI).
Qualified for 1999 and 2000:
By winning the ICC Trophy, the Tigers had qualified for the first time 7th Cricket World Cup in England in 1999. In a group match Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 62 runs.
As a reward of bright performance in ICC and 7th World Cup Bangladesh was given the status of the 10th Test playing nation on the 26th June, 2000.
Bangladesh's maiden test match took place in Dhaka against touring India on 10-14 November 2000. In the match Bangladesh lost by nine wickets.
In 2005:
In January 2005, Bangladesh records their maiden test victory with a thumping 226 runs win over Zimbabwe. In June, Bangladesh defeats World Champions Australia in a Natwest series ODI Series Match.
In 2007:
On 17 March, in their first match of the 2007 Cricket World Cup Bangladesh stunned India with a five wicket victory in Port of Spain.
In 2008:
On 9th October, 2008, Bangladesh recorded its first ever victory over New Zealand in an ODI winning by seven wickets in Mirpur.
In 2010:
As of May 2010, Bangladesh have played in 68 Tests, winning only 3. Their first victory was against Zimbabwe and the other two against West Indies.
In the ICC World Cup 2011:
But the Tiger's performance in the ICC world Cup 2011 was disappointing. Though the Tigers defeated, Netherlands and the Test playing country England, they ended their ICC World Cup Cricket group phase in a shameful defeat.
They became zeroes from heroes as they were all out for 58 runs against West Indies and 78 for 10 wickets against South Africa. This humiliating and shocking defeat of the Tigers proved them as one of the most inconsistent teams in the world cricket arena.
In the ICC World Cup 2015:
The tigers performance in the ICC World Cup 2015 was victorious. In this match then could 105 runs victory against Afghanistan.
Again in the same year in the another of the ICC World Cup the tigers came out successful with at least 15 runs against England.
In 2015:
On 5 march 2015 the tigers performed with Scotland national team-in Nelson, Newzeland in their 30th match in World cricket. There then stunned Scotland with a six wicket victory.
Conclusion:
Cricket is a royal game. Cricket teaches manliness, obedience, patience, perseverance and co operation. But fairness is the very essence of this game.
The players of Bangladesh have great potentialities in the field of cricket and one day our players may achieve name and fame in World Cup Cricket. The glory of Bangladesh mostly depends on the cricket.
So, every cricketer should be played his best in respect of his motherland.

ওয়ার্ল্ড কাপ ক্রিকেট হলো প্রতিটি ক্রিকেট ভক্তের নিকট অতি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। এ সময়ের খেলাগুলো প্রতি চার বছর পর অনুষ্ঠিত হয়, বাংলাদেশে বসবাসরত ক্রিকেট ভক্তদের নিকট অধিক স্মরণীয় হবে।
এটি কিভাবে খেলা হয়:
একটি ক্রিকেট ম্যাচ দুটি দলের মধ্যে খেলা হয়। প্রতিটি টিম এগার জন করে খেলোয়াড় নিয়ে গঠিত হয়। একটি ম্যাচ মাঝে মাঝে সম্পূর্ণ দিন ধরে খেলা হয় ও এমনকি এটা দিন-রাত পর্যন্ত হয়।
আম্পায়ার খেলার শুরুতে প্রতীক চিহ্নিত করেন ও বোলারগণ বল করা শুরু করে। প্রতিটি ছয়টি বল করার পর একটি ওভার শেষ হয়।

১৯৯৯ ও ২০০০-এ সাফল্য অর্জন :

২০০৫ সাল:
২০০৫ সালের জানুয়ারি, বাংলাদেশ তাদের মেইডন (কুমারী) টেস্টে জিম্বাবুয়ের বিরুদ্ধে ২২৬ রানে এক বিপুল বিজয় লাভ করে। জুনে বাংলাদেশ বিশ্ব চ্যাম্পিয়ন অস্ট্রেলিয়াকে একটি ন্যাটওয়েস্ট সিরিজ ওডিআই সিরিজ ম্যাচে পরাজিত করে।

২০০৭ সালের ৭ মার্চ বছরের শুরুতে বাংলাদেশ পোর্ট অব স্পেনে ভারতকে হতভম্ব করেছিল পাঁচ ইউকেটের এক বিজয় দিয়ে।

২০০৮ সাল :
২০০৮ সালের ৯ অক্টোবর বাংলাদেশ একটি ওডিআই অর্জনকারী হিসেবে মিরপুরে নিউজিল্যান্ডের বিরুদ্ধে প্রথমবারের মতো সাত ইউকেটে চির বিজয় অর্জনের রেকর্ড করে।
২০১০ সাল :
২০১০ সালের মে মাস নাগাদ বাংলাদেশ ৬৪টি টেস্ট খেলেছে, বিজয় লাভ করেছে মাত্র তিনটিতে। তাদের প্রথম বিজয়টি ছিল জিম্বাবুয়ের বিরুদ্ধে ও অন্য দুটি ছিল ওয়েস্ট ইন্ডিজের বিরুদ্ধে।
২০১১ সালের আইসিসি ওয়ার্ল্ড কাপ:
কিন্তু ২০১১ সালের আইসিসি ওলার্ল্ড কাপ টাইগারদের কৃতিত্ব ছিল হতাশাব্যঞ্জক। যদিও টাইগাররা নেদারল্যান্ডস্ ও টেস্ট খেলোয়াড় দেশ ইংল্যান্ডকে হারিয়েছিল, একটি লজ্জাজনক হার দিয়ে তাদের আইসিসি ওয়ার্ল্ড কাপ দল থেকে বিদায় নিয়েছিল।
তারা হিরো থেকে জিরো হয়েছিল তারা ওয়েস্ট ইন্ডিজের বিরুদ্ধে ৫৮ রানে অল আউট ও সাউদ আফ্রিকার বিরুদ্ধে ৭৮ রানে ১০ উইকেট হারিয়েছিল।

২০১৫ সালের আইসিসি ওয়ার্ল্ড কাপ:
২০১৫ সালের আইসিসি ওয়ার্ল্ড কাপ টাইগারদের কৃতিত্ব ছিল বিজয়ী। এই ম্যাচটিতে তারা আফগানিস্তান বিপক্ষে ১৫০ রানে বিজয়ী হয়েছিল।

২০১৫ সালের ১৫ মার্চ টাইগাররা কৃতিত্ব দেখিয়েছিল স্কটল্যান্ডের জাতীয় টিমের সাথে নিউজিল্যান্ডের নেলসনে আন্তর্জাতিক ক্রিকেট অঙ্গনে তাদের ৩০তম ম্যাচটিতে। সেখানে তারা ছয় উইকেটের এক বিজয় দিয়ে স্কটল্যান্ডকে ধরাসায়ী করেছিল।
উপসংহার:
ক্রিকেট একটি রাজকীয় খেলা। ক্রিকেট মানবিকতা, বাধ্যতা, সহিষ্ণুতা অধ্যবসীয় ও সহযোগিতা শিক্ষা দেয়। কিন্তু এ খেলায় পক্ষপাতহীনতা খুব বেশি প্রয়োজন।
বাংলাদেশের খেলোয়াড়দের ক্রিকেট মাঝে বিরাট সুপ্ত প্রতিভা রয়েছে এবং একদিন আমাদের খোলোয়াড়গণ বিশ্বকাপ ক্রিকেটে বিরাট সুনাম অর্জন করবে।
বাংলাদেশের গৌরব অনেকটাই ক্রিকেটের উপর নির্ভর করে। তাই প্রত্যেক খেলোয়াড়কে তার মাতৃভূমির প্রতি সম্মান দেখিয়ে সেরাটাই খেলা উচিত।
