ভারতীয় ইতিহাসে ১৯৩৫ সালের ভারত শাসন আইন ছিল সবচেয়ে দীর্ঘায়িত আইন ১৯৩৫ সালের আইনের মাধ্যমে কেন্দ্রে দ্বৈতশাসনের পরিবর্তে স্বায়ত্তশাসনের ব্যবস্থা করা হয়। প্রাদেশিক স্বায়ত্তশাসন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রীয় ব্যবস্থার সাথে ঘনিষ্টভাবে জড়িত। এর জন্যই প্রাদেশিক স্বায়ত্তশাসনকে ১৯৩৫ সালের ভারত শাসন আইনরে প্রাণকেন্দ্র বলা হয়ে থাকে ।

ধারণত প্রাদেশিক স্বায়ত্তশাসন বলতে আমরা প্রদেশের স্বাধীনতাকে বুঝে থাকি। প্রকৃতপক্ষে প্রাদেশিক স্বায়ত্তশাসন হলো কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের নিয়ন্ত্রণমুক্ত হয়ে স্বাধীনভাবে নিজস্ব সম্পদ বণ্টন, রাজস্ব সংগ্রহ ও শাসনকার্য পরিচালনার জন্য নিজস্ব এখতিয়ার ভোগ করা।
প্রাদেশিক স্বায়ত্তশাসন হলো যুক্তরাষ্ট্র সরকারের অন্যতম বৈশিষ্ট্য। প্রত্যেক প্রদেশ যাতে নিজেদের শাসনকার্য স্বাধীনভাবে পরিচালনা করতে পারে তার নিশ্চয়তা বিধান করাই যুক্তরাষ্ট্রীয় সরকারের অন্যতম বৈশিষ্ট্য। ১৯৩৫ সালের ভারত শাসন আইন প্রবর্তন করা হলেও ভারতীয় জনগণের আশা-আকাঙ্ক্ষা পূরণ করতে সক্ষম হয়নি।
উপসংহার :
সুতরাং উপরের আলোচনার পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে আমরা বলতে পারি যে, ১৯৩৫ সালের ভারত শাসন আইন ভারতীয় জনগণের আশা-আকাঙ্ক্ষা পূরণ করতে সক্ষম হয়নি। এ আইন সাময়িকভাবে ভারতের শাসনব্যবস্থার অচলাবস্থার অবসান ঘটাতে পারলেও স্থায়ীভাবে তা অবসান করতে সক্ষম হয়নি, বরং তা রাজনৈতিক অস্থিরতা বৃদ্ধিতে সহায়ক ভূমিকা পালন করেছে।

The Rule of India Act, 1935 was the longest Act in Indian history. The Act of 1935 replaced the dual rule at the center with autonomy. Provincial autonomy is closely related to the federal system. This is why provincial autonomy was called the heart of Indian rule in 1935.
→ Provincial Autonomy :
By provincial autonomy we mean the independence of the province. In fact, provincial autonomy is freedom from the control of the central government and the independent distribution of resources, revenue collection and governance.
Provincial autonomy is one of the hallmarks of the United States government. One of the hallmarks of the federal government is to ensure that each province can govern itself independently. The Indian Rule Act of 1935 was introduced but failed to fulfill the aspirations of the Indian people.
Conclusion:
So in view of the above discussion we can say that the Indian Rule Act of 1935 has not been able to fulfill the aspirations of the Indian people. Although this act temporarily ended the deadlock in India's governance system, it did not manage to end it permanently, rather it played an instrumental role in increasing political instability.
