ভূমিকা :
সমাজ উন্নয়নের দুটি শক্তিশালী মাধ্যম হচ্ছে নারী ও পুরুষ। কিন্তু আমাদের পুরুষ শাসিত সমাজে নারীদের কর্মকাণ্ডের প্রকৃত মূল্যায়ন করা হয় না।
বর্তমানে সভ্যতার ক্রমবিকাশের ফলে মানুষজন ধীরে ধীরে নারীদের ক্ষমতায়নের গুরুত্ব উপলব্ধি করতে শুরু করেছে। আর এর পেছনে অনুঘটকের ভূমিকা পালন করছে NGOগুলো।
NGO দের ইতিবাচক দিক :
সভ্যতার ক্রমোন্নতির ফলে বর্তমানে নারী-পুরুষের ব্যবধান দ্রুত হ্রাস পাচ্ছে। এর পেছনে মূলত বিভিন্ন NGO এর নিম্নোক্ত ইতিবাচক দিকগুলো সম্পৃক্ত।
১. ক্ষুদ্রঋণ :
নারীদের ক্ষমতায়নে বিভিন্ন NGO সংস্থা যে ক্ষুদ্রঋণ প্রকল্প চালু করেছে তা নারীদের কর্মক্ষম ও স্বাবলম্বী হতে সাহায্য করছে। ফলে তারা পরিবারের বিভিন্ন প্রয়োজনে সাহায্যদানের মাধ্যমে পরিবারে নিজের আলাদা একটা গুরুত্ব তৈরী করতে পারছে।
২. নারী শিক্ষার বিকাশ :
বিভিন্ন NGO তার সুবিধাভোগী নারীদের প্রাথমিক শিক্ষায় শিক্ষিত হবার ব্যাপারে নানামুখী পদক্ষেপ পরিচালনা করে থাকে। তাছাড়া এ সকল মায়ের সন্তানদের সুশিক্ষায়ও এই সকল NGO সহযোগিতা করায় দেশে শিক্ষার বিকাশ ঘটে।
৩. কুসংস্কার দূরীকরণ :
বাংলাদেশের গ্রামবাংলার অধিকাংশ মানুষ প্রচণ্ড কুসংস্কারাচ্ছন্ন। তারা নানা প্রাকৃতিক অপশক্তিসহ ইত্যাদি বিষয়ে বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করে। আর অধিকাংশ সময় তার শিকার হতে হয় নারীদের।
বর্তমানে বিভিন্ন NGO গ্রামাঞ্চলে বিজ্ঞান- প্রযুক্তির প্রসারের মাধ্যমে এই কুসংস্কার দূরীকরণে ব্যাপক ভূমিকা পালন করছে।
৪. জন্মহার হ্রাস :
পূর্বে পুরুষ সমাজ নারীদের শুধুমাত্র সন্তান জন্মদানের মাধ্যম ও নিজস্ব লালসা মেটানোর উপকরণ হিসেবে বিবেচনা করত। কিন্তু বর্তমানে NGO গুলোর সহায়তায় নারীরা স্বাবলম্বী হওয়ায় সন্তান নেয়া বা না নেয়ার ব্যাপারে নিজস্ব মতামত কার্যকর করার সুযোগ লাভ করেছে।
৫. নারী নির্যাতন হ্রাস :
NGO গুলোর ব্যাপক ও বহুমুখী প্রচেষ্টার ফলে বর্তমানে বাংলাদেশসহ সমগ্র বিশ্বে নারী নির্যাতন অনেকাংশে হ্রাস পাচ্ছে।
নারীদের শিক্ষা, কর্মসংস্থানের মাধ্যমে স্বামীর পাশাপাশি স্ত্রীর মর্যাদা প্রতিষ্ঠার মাধ্যমে তারা নারী নির্যাতনের হার অনেক কমিয়ে এনেছে। নারীর ক্ষমতায়নে NGO দের ভূমিকা

পরিশেষে বলা যায় যে, বিভিন্ন ধর্মীয়, আর্থ-সামাজিক ও রাজনৈতিক কারণে নারী সমাজ যুগে যুগে লাঞ্ছিত ও নিপীড়িত হয়ে আসছিল।

1. Microcredit:
The micro-credit projects launched by various NGOs for women empowerment are helping women to become functional and self-reliant. As a result, they are able to create their own importance in the family by helping the various needs of the family.
2. Development of Women's Education:

3. Eliminating Superstitions:

5. Reduction of violence against women:
As a result of the extensive and multifaceted efforts of NGOs, violence against women is decreasing to a large extent in the whole world including Bangladesh.
