ভূমিকা : চীনা কিংবদন্তি অনুসারে তাওবাদের প্রবর্তক চীনের প্রাচীনতম দার্শনিক লাওৎসু। তাওবাদের মূলকথা হলো সমস্ত কিছুর মূল শক্তিই হচ্ছে প্রকৃতি। তাওবাদের নীতি অনুযায়ী পঞ্চশীলাসমূহ
তাওবাদের মানুষ ও প্রকৃতির মধ্যে ভারসাম্য রক্ষা করতে হয়। নির্দিষ্ট কিছু নীতিমালার জন্য তাওধর্ম প্রসিদ্ধি লাভ করেছে। এ নীতিগুলোকে পঞ্চশীলা নীতি বলা হয়। তাওবাদের নীতি অনুযায়ী পঞ্চশীলাসমূহ
তাওবাদের নীতি অনুযায়ী পঞ্চশীলাসমূহ :
১. চুরি নিষিদ্ধ : তাওবাদের নীতি অনুযায়ী সকল প্রকার চুরি নিষিদ্ধ করা হয়। কাজেই কোনো চুরি করা যাবে না।
২. মদ্যপান অবৈধ : তাওবাদের পঞ্চশীলা নীতির অন্যতম হলো মদ্যপান করা যাবে না। কেননা তাওবাদে মদ্যপান নিষিদ্ধ।
৩. মিথ্যা নিষিদ্ধ : তাওবাদের বিশেষ নীতি হলো মিথ্যা বলা যাবে না। তাই মিথ্যাকে নিষিদ্ধ করা হয়েছে।
৪. হত্যা করা নিষিদ্ধ : জীব হত্যা মহাপাপ। তাই তাওবাদেও জীব হত্যা নিষিদ্ধ করা হয়েছে।
৫. ব্যভিচার নিষিদ্ধ : ব্যভিচার বা যৌনাচার সকল ধর্মেই নিষিদ্ধ। তাওবাদের পঞ্চশীলার নীতিতেও ব্যভিচারকে নিষিদ্ধ করা হয়েছে।
এছাড়া তাওবাদে দশটি গুণের উল্লেখ রয়েছে। এগুলো হলো :
১. সর্বজীবে দয়া করা,
২. ধৈর্য ধারণ করা,
৩. অপত্য স্নেহ পোষণ করা।
৪. রাজা ও শিক্ষকের প্রতি আনুগত্য প্রদর্শন করা,
৫. মন্দকাজে ভর্ৎসনা করা,
৬. দরিদ্রকে সাহায্যের জন্য ত্যাগ স্বীকার করা।
৭. পবিত্র গ্রন্থ পাঠ ও দেবতাদের উদ্দেশ্যে দান করা ও কল্যাণসাধনে সবসময় চেষ্টা করা,
৮. প্রাণীমুক্ত করা ও বৃক্ষরোপণ করা, তাওবাদের নীতি অনুযায়ী পঞ্চশীলাসমূহ
৯. কূপ খনন ও রাস্তা নির্মাণ করা এবং
১০. মূর্খ ও নিরক্ষরদের জ্ঞান দান ও কল্যাণ সাধনে সবসময় চেষ্টা করা।
উপসংহার :
পরিশেষে বলা যায় যে, তাওবাদের নীতি, আদর্শ ও দর্শন বিশ্লেষণ করলে দেখা যায় যে, তাওবাদ অনেক বেশি উদার ও মানবিক। তাওবাদ চীনের অন্যতম ধর্ম হিসেবে নৈতিকতার উৎকর্ষ সাধনে বেশ প্রভাব বিস্তার করেছে।

Introduction : According to Chinese legend, the founder of Taoism was Lao Tzu, China's oldest philosopher. The main tenet of Taoism is that nature is the root force of all things.
Taoism seeks to maintain a balance between man and nature. Taoism is famous for certain principles. These principles are called Panchsheela principles.
According to the principles of Taoism, the Panchasheelas are:
1. Prohibition of Theft: According to the principles of Taoism, all forms of theft are prohibited. So no theft can be done.
2. Drinking alcohol is illegal: One of the five principles of Taoism is to not drink alcohol. Because Taoism prohibits drinking alcohol.
3. Prohibition of lying: The special principle of Taoism is that one cannot lie. So lying is prohibited.
4. Prohibited to kill: Killing animals is a great sin. Therefore killing living beings is forbidden in Taoism too.
5. Prohibition of adultery: Adultery or fornication is prohibited in all religions. Adultery is also prohibited in the Five Principles of Taoism.
Besides, Taoism mentions ten virtues. These are:
1. be kind to all living things,
2. to be patient,
3. To cherish one's children.
4. Showing obedience to king and teacher,
5. to rebuke evil deeds,
6. Making sacrifices to help the poor.
7. Reading holy books and donating to the gods and always striving for beneficence,
8. Animal freeing and tree planting,
9. Digging wells and constructing roads and
10. To always strive to impart knowledge and welfare to the ignorant and illiterate.
Conclusion:
Finally, it can be said that by analyzing the principles, ideals and philosophy of Taoism, it can be seen that Taoism is much more liberal and humane. Taoism as one of China's religions has been very influential in promoting moral excellence.
